Alternative Therapy For Swollen Tonsils Has Been Around
My aunt introduced me to alternative therapy for swollen tonsils when I was a teenager. After that whenever there was a sign of the infection coming on in the form of sore throat, difficulty swallowing and swollen tonsils I did several things:
I used a warm saltwater gargle. I dissolved ˝ teaspoonful of salt in 1 cup of warm water and I would gargle with the mixture three times a day to help reduce swelling, relieve pain and remove mucus. The sore throat kept me from eating. Between drinking pineapple juice and mint tea kept me on a liquid fast until the infection had subsided.
I’ve got to tell you that this inflammation of the tonsils is most common in children, but it can occur at any age. In adults and children, it may be a sign that the body’s resistance to disease is lower than it should be. This is generally the result of an improper diet that is high in refined carbohydrates and low in protein and other nutrients. Go to Healthy food for some tips on what to eat.
