Eating Balanced Diet To Improve Your Health
Most of us don’t have time for a balanced diet. Or so we think... I’ve got some news for you, we either take the time to plan for one now or we will pay the consequences later. What does “balanced diet” mean? It means what you should eat, and exactly how much of it you should eat. Your body needs fuel for exercises and physical activities, and that fuel comes from food. When you stop to think about it, don’t you want to live long and live strong? I mean, who in their right mind would prefer being weak to being strong? Eating the proper amount of nutrients helps build muscle and energy.
Diet Plans
Healthy diet plans must provide a proper balance of the four essential nutrients–as well as vitamins, minerals, and other micronutrients:- Water: to keep body hydrated, flush out toxins.
- Carbohydrates: these provide a source of energy.
- Proteins: these provide a source of materials for growth and repair.
- Fats: these provide a source of energy and contain fat soluble vitamins.
- Vitamins: these are required in very small quantities to keep you healthy.
- Mineral Salts: these are required for healthy teeth, bones, muscles etc
- Fibre: this is required to help your intestines function correctly; it is not digested.
When we plan our food accordingly, a healthy diet plan will contain the above items in the correct proportions.
Food for good health
Use of the food pyramid as a guideline may help to prevent or delay some of the diseases associated with growing older. Looking at the healthy food list in the guidelines, you will see that the biggest part of the calories you take in each day should come from grains, and the smallest amount should come from fats, oils, and sweets. The guidelines put heavy emphasis on vegetables and fruits, and less on meat and dairy products. Use this healthy food list to help us to stick to a balanced diet.
