Herbs For Acne
as Natural Therapy

Health practitioners are prescribing herbs for acne because many advertised medications don’t work.

Generally, people want to get rid of the acne and don’t want to mess around waiting to see if a product will really perform like it was advertised. Acne was once viewed as the bane of burger-eating, cola-guzzling teenagers. Now it is understood that acne also affects adults as well.

Though poor nutrition is sometimes the culprit, there are times when the root of the problem is an overproduction of sebum, a waxy substance that clogs the pores and lead to blackheads, whiteheads, and pimples.

In teenagers, this overload of sebum is caused by the hormone explosion known as puberty. In adults, it can result from heredity, stress and women’s monthly hormone fluctuations.

It’s important to remember that herbs are medicines.

As with any medication, it’s important to know how to take herbs, how frequently and in what dosage. No matter what you do, be aware that just because it’s natural doesn’t mean it’s always safe. Especially if you are taking other prescribed medicines, or even over the counter medications.

Herbs don’t necessarily work quickly, which is why it is recommended that you use the herbs for acne for three months. Most people who don’t get results with herbs make the mistake of giving up too soon.
