More recently, Meditation has become a valuable tool for finding a peaceful oasis of relaxation and stress relief in a demanding, fast-paced world.
I enjoy meditating outdoors in my garden. It has allowed me to find and to identify myself with the self that is within. I often wonder how I would cope without this peaceful place to escape to.It is another means of natural alternative therapy. A simple, yet traditional way to relieve stress.

Why relieve stress?Stress and worry produces acidic conditions in our bodies which promote cancer and other diseases. This alternative anxiety therapy can have a very powerful effect on the body. It can help you to cope with all kinds of stress-related problems, including migraines, peptic ulcers and anxiety. When you are confronted with stressful situations your muscles tense, your breathing become shallow, your heart races, your blood vessels constrict, your blood pressure rises, you start to sweat, and your digestive tract cramps up.

Why meditate?
It's an activity that calms the mind and keeps it focused
on the present. Traditionally it was (and still is) used for
spiritual growth.
It is:

- Emotional cleansing & balancing
- Deepening concentration & insight
- Manifesting change
- Developing intuition
- Unlocking creativity
- Exploring higher realities
- Finding inner guidance
- Not connected to mysticism,
- It does not involve hypnosis,
- and it is not a form of brain washing.
It is you channeling your thoughts, focusing them on one thing...a pleasant thought, a word, a sound. It should be practiced alone, in a warm quiet room with no outside interruptions. After a time you will be able to stay centered and calm even if there are distractions. A few mental rest stops several times a day works better toward lessening feelings of stress and anxiety.
