"Pancreatic Cancer is not nearly as common as breast or lung cancer, but its diagnosis and treatment are particularly difficult," said senior researcher Elizabeth A. Holly, a professor of epidemiology and biostatistics at the University of California, San Francisco.
Cancer affects one of every three Americans during their lifetime.
Every year billions of dollars are spent on cancer treatment and research.
Yet with all we have invested in cancer during this century, the death rate caused by this disease continues to climb. It is a sobering fact.
Once a person is diagnosed with cancer, the only treatments permitted in this country are chemotherapy and radiation.
Unfortunately, both have poor long-term survival rates.
Healthy Lifestyle
Since nutrition, lifestyle and the environment are the most common risk factors for cancer, many of these cancers can be eliminated or substantially reduced through proactive preventive behaviors.
How can we prevent pancreatic cancer?
A lifestyle program which provides a practical approach to dietary fat reduction, more optimal intake of fiber, antioxidant vitamins and calcium, and includes a reasonable plan for more physical activity, can substantially impact cancer incidence and associated health care costs.
As early as 1855, a German scientist identified mangostin, a powerful antioxidant, known as a xanthone, which appeared to fight infection, fungus, bacteria, histamines and possibly cancer.
Mangosteen is known as Queen of Fruits and the "Food of the Gods".

Medical science has shown that people who eat healthy diets rich in antioxidant vitamins and beta carotenes have lower rates of cancer, therefore with a better chance to prevent pancreatic cancer.
Cleanse the blood stream by thoroughly relieving constipation and making all the organs of elimination active--skin, lungs, liver, kidneys and bowels-and keeping them active.
The life-giving properties keep the blood stream pure, and cancer will not develop where there is a pure blood stream.

Healthy Eating Plans
Diets rich in fruits and vegetables can help prevent cancer with a 50 percent reduced risk of deadly pancreatic cancer, researchers report.
Onions, garlic, beans, yellow vegetables (carrots, yams, sweet potatoes, corn and yellow squash), dark leafy vegetables and cruciferous vegetables are most strongly associated with protection against pancreatic cancer.
Fruit is also found to offer a protective effect, but much less so than vegetables. Citrus fruits and juices were the most protective fruits to prevent pancreatic cancer.
This 50 percent reduced risk of pancreatic cancer was associated with eating at least five servings per day of the protective vegetables and fruit, compared with eating two servings or less a day, the study said.
Eating nine servings a day of vegetables and fruit was associated with about a 50 percent reduced risk of pancreatic cancer, compared with eating less than five servings a day.
A return to eating food naturally ensures us of a good chance to prevent pancreatic cancer.
